There comes a time when you might need to inspect your vehicle. Inspection is mandatory when:
-
Transfer of ownership
-
Interchange of registration number
-
Inspection as instructed by JPJ due to warning issued by them
-
Change of engine
In any case, bring along original or photocopy of registration grant.
For locations of Puspakom inspection centres, click here:
Upon reaching the inspection centre, you are required to register your vehicle at a specified booth where you are asked which inspection that your vehicle will undergo. You will also be passed a form to be filled up and handed over to a designated payment counter.
With all payments done through a drive through booth along the inspection lane, your vehicle will proceed to the lane and upon your turn, just hand over the form and pay accordingly. Click here (http://www.puspakom.com.my/html/inspection_fee.html) for inspection fee. Remember to keep the receipt as you will need to pass it to the inspecting officer.
As your vehicle inches along the inspection line, be on hand to present your vehicle grant to the inspecting officer. If your vehicle isn’t popular, (eg: European makes), it is advisable to know the location of the engine and chassis number so you could point them out in case the inspecting officer does not know of them.
After finishing the inspection, have your vehicle parked at away from the inspection line and just proceed to wait at the result counter whereby a result certificate will be issued to you.
The result certificate will be needed by JPJ for any of the case listed above.
Ps: be patient and when armed with the information above, your inspection will be hassle-free.
